The Links at Las Palomas

The Links is an 18-hole, par-72, championship golf course sculpted from dramatic seaside dunes in the “true links” tradition. Situated along Sandy Beach on the shores of the Sea of Cortez, the terrain closely resembles that on which golf began more than 600 years ago. Although located just one hour south of the border, the course will remind players of the first golf courses constructed along the coast of the British Isles. The Links also includes a “bonus hole” that provides a unique way for golfers to settle a tie. The bonus hole can also be played as an alternate green for the 18th hole.

The Las Palomas Golf Club also features a practice range, clubhouse and pro shop. Refreshments are also available at the snack shops located on the golf course club house.

Peninsula de Cortes at the Mayan Palace

A golf experience so unique located in La Jolla, the jewel of Puerto Peñasco and designed by Jack Nicklaus, this ocean side course is immaculate in every way. The course challenges you to play a more strategic game with carefully placed bunkers, morphing fairways and cross winds that blow in from the sea. The course is situated on a 2 mile peninsula with a tidal estuary on one side and the Sea of Cortés on the other. Experience 7,210 yards of golf surrounded by beach wilderness contrasted by the bright green of the paspallum grass against the desert sand accentuated with turquoise blue waters.

Located about 25 miles east of old town this course is an easy drive and well worth the trip. The clubhouse is separated from the resort by a considerable distance, so don’t plan on walking to the hotel after play. The views from the clubhouse, the full service bar/ restaurant and outdoor patio are a welcome invitation after a round on the beach.
